After waiting for three plus weeks (we talked to our stake president on April 29th) we finally received our mission calls and assignments today (May 23rd). The Pleasant Grove Post Office called us at 7am and said that they had a letter for us that we have probably been waiting for and asked us if we wanted to come down and pick it up or if we wanted them to deliver it. We went down and picked it up. Then we called our five kids and let them know. The all asked why we had received it so early. All five were surprised of the location and happy about the date, because we will get to be around all summer and even past the beginning of our grandchildren's next school year. The most exciting thing about the date is that we will definitely be here for our granddaughter Amanda's baptism in August.
One of the letters we received today is below (we received two identical letters; one addressed to each of us), but the pertinent details are: we are going to Ulaanbaatar Mongolia and we begin our assignment at the Provo Senior Missionary Training Center on October 8, 2012. We will be involved in humanitarian efforts, but we don't know the details of that yet. We don't know exactly when we will leave for Mongolia, as we have not yet received those details, but it will be around the 15th or 20th of October. We think that the date is so far out because of the need to get visas, etc.....
We will keep you posted as further details are known.
